Interactive Touchscreen Projector: Hachi Infinite M1

Projectors are well known to be big, needing a lot of space to project an image, and requiring a dark room. Over time as technology improves and components start to become smaller and cheaper, projectors have reduced in size and now smart technologies have started to integrate with them. The Hachi Infinite M1 built by Puppy Robot is pushing the boundaries of what projectors could offer. The M1 projector has two modes: horizontal and vertical. The projector is AI-powered, wireless, and has in-built speakers for streaming music.

Different Modes

In vertical mode, the projector projects the image onto a tabletop and has touch capabilities which can detect 10-point contact.

In horizontal mode, there is no touch functionality but can project on a larger screen (Minimum width 23 inches and max-width 100inch).

Intelligent Projector

The Hachi Infinite M1 has around 2hr 30min battery life, HDMI, USB, and 3.5mm headphone jack. AI-powered functionality has some advanced features such as human pose estimation to help you with yoga or physical training, or object identification when placed within the projected area. The device itself comes with 4GB RAM and is powered by a Snapdragon SDA670 which runs Android 9.0.

Future Projector

The Hachi Infinite M1 shows how increasingly advancing technologies can be integrated into projectors to push the boundaries and offer more value to users. The M1’s use of touchscreen technology shows potential and how the technology could be downsized even smaller and used in smaller devices, such as tablets or even smartphones. Whether this type of projector advances the projector market is another question, however the advancements shown in this device gives great insight.
