iPhone Event ‘Hi Speed’

One month after its last event, Apple has hosted another event dedicated to its new iPhone 12 line-up. Here are the highlights from this year’s iPhone event.

HomePod Mini

Apple kicked off the event with an announcement of the HomePod Mini. Apple is focusing on a smart speaker that users will want to have multiple units so they can spread them around the house. This is to link all your Apple devices together; Apple intends to build a collection of smart products that will connect. Do not be surprised if Apple launches an Apple Television to add to this wide Apple produced smart devices. The HomePod Mini will cost £99

Four New iPhone 12’s

This year iPhone 12 sees improvement on the display, improved cameras  (night mode on wide and ultra-wide cameras), the introduction of 5G connectivity across the line-up and new refined design taken from the iPad Pro.

The mini line-up is the newest sub-model of an iPhone. This form factor is designed to have the latest tech but in a smaller form factor. The iPhone 12 Mini has a 5.4-inch Super Retina XDR Display, while the iPhone 12 comes with a 6.1-inch display. Both phones come with a 12MP f/1.6 main and 12Mp f/2.4 ultra-wide rear cameras. Both are capable of recording 4K 60fps video. On the front, there is an f.2.2 camera which features in the notch alongside the Face ID sensors. Both phones will use Apple’s new A14 Bionic chipset, which will ensure super-fast processing speeds. Both will also have 5G connectivity. Both the iPhone 12 mini and iPhone comes in 5 different colours (White, Black, Blue, Green and Product Red), both phones are made from aluminium.

The iPhone 12 Pro comes with a 6.1-inch display while the iPhone 12 Pro Max comes with a 6.7-inch display. Both the Pro and Pro Max come with different cameras. The iPhone 12 Pro comes with 12MP F/1.6 wide, 12MP f/2.4 Ultra Wide and 12 MP f/2.0 telephoto with 4x optical zoom. The iPhone 12 Pro Max comes with 12MP F/1.6 wide, 12MP f/2.4 Ultra Wide and 12 MP f/2.2 telephoto with 5x optical zoom. Both will come in Blue, Gold, Black and White and constructed made from stainless steel. Both phones will be equipped with new A14 Bionic chipset and will have 5G connectivity.

iPhone Magsafe System

Apple unveiled iPhone MagSafe system taken from the Apple Laptops past and integrated it into iPhones. The Magsafe system will allow you to automatically snap into optimal place on a wireless charger and snap-on accessories such as magnetic cases or credit cardholders.

Ceramic Shield

Apple introduced Ceramic Shield, which the company states it will make displays four times hard to crack and scratch.
