OnePlus 9 Pro

OnePlus has unveiled their new OnePlus 9 line-up. Over the years with each generation of OnePlus, phones have seen huge improvements in speed, features, and processing power. One major factor that has hindered One Plus phones to be a good all-around phone is the camera system. This year One Plus hopes to rectify this issue by collaborating with Hasselblad to develop a new camera.

Specifications

The OnePlus 9 comes with a 6.7 QHD AMOLED display at a 120Hz refresh rate that will adapt to the app being used. For example a gaming app, the display will go at 120Hz refresh to cater for smooth dynamic animations of characters. The display will reduce down to 1Hz for an eBook that doesn’t require a high refresh rate to save battery.  The smartphone is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset that will enable faster loading performance. The OnePlus 9 pro comes with either 8GB or 12GB RAM. The 8GB variant will come with 128GB of storage and the 12GB variant will get 256GB. The One Plus 9 is powered by a large 4,500mAh battery and comes with a 65-watt wired charging and supports 50-watt wireless charging.

Camera

One major department that OnePlus has focused on is in the camera department in comparison to past OnePlus phones. Especially for the Pro line-up that is being matched up with the likes of the Samsung S22 and Apple iPhone 12 line-up, the One Plus Pro camera hasn’t been living up to standards with its competitors. This year, the OnePlus 9 Pro comes with a 48MP main camera, 50MP ultra-wide camera, 8MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom, and 2MP monochrome shooter that allows a higher quality black and white imagery. All the camera sensors in the OnePlus 9 Pro are developed by Sony who is the top manufacturer of mirrorless cameras. The OnePlus 9 Pro is capable of filming in 8K up to 30 frames per second, the smartphone is also capable of filming at 4K at 120 frames per second for slow-motion footage. The OnePlus 9 Pro is equipped with a 16MP camera for those important group selfies.

Summary

OnePlus’ focus on the camera system and the image quality have been a great improvement to make the One Plus smartphone ecosystem more competitive with other flagships. OnePlus in the past has produced smartphones equipped with the best displays, processors, and RAM allowing them to perform on-par with other smartphones priced similar or higher. The combination of a high-resolution display and an improved camera system will be a great recommendation for a lot of people. OnePlus also provides a non-pro version that has a smaller display and comes at a cheaper price.
