Top 5 gadgets from IFA 2020

Due to COVID-19, this year’s event has seen a lot of tech announcements made at the Berlin expo or live streamed from locations around the world. Here are the top 5 gadgets announced at IFA 2020.

Samsung: The Premiere, 4K Short Throw Laser Projector

Samsung unveiled a new 4K projector. The company announced that this new projector is classed as an Ultra Short Throw projector, which means that the projector can be placed directly in front of a wall or screen. The projector is a great all in one solution as the projector has integrated woofers. The projector will support Samsung’s full Smart TV platform with a complete array of apps and services.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2

The Galaxy Z Fold 2 is the successor to the original Fold. Samsung has taken what they have learnt from the first generation and implemented them in the Fold 2. The Fold 2 has a bigger screen on the outside making the front screen more practical. The inside screen sees improvements as well with a 120Hz refresh rate for a more fluid experience. The Fold 2 now includes better cameras: on the back, there are 3 cameras (all 12MP), primary camera is f/1.8 and supports dual-pixel focusing, a telephoto camera that can zoom in 2x optical or 10x hybrid, and an ultra-wide camera. These hardware improvements make the Fold more practical, however price wise still out of reach for the general consumer.

Harman Kardon Citation 200

The Harman Kardon Citation 200 combines Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity to take your music from indoors to outdoors. The speaker is PAX4 water-resistance certified, thereby allowing the speakers to withstand spots of rain. The speaker allows for 8 hours playback and can be charged via the charging base or USB-C. Speaker is a Google Assistant smart speaker enabling you to control smart home devices. There is also support for AirPlay 2 and Chromecast allowing you access to a lot of music streaming services you want.

Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit

Instead of racing around on your TV, start racing in your living room. The Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit allows you to drive remote-controlled cars around a virtual track in augmented reality. You will pick on same power-ups and traps as you would in the game.

LG: Wing Smartphone

The likes of Samsung and Motorola might be experimenting with foldable smartphones, LG is experimenting with smartphones that can rotate.  LG plans to unveil its new smartphone on 14th September.
